DVHSC Hosts A Conversation on Leveraging & Braiding Funding for Maximum Organizational Impact

Maria Barahona, the Director of Programs and Compliance at Haven Hills, led an insightful discussion on optimizing your diverse funding channels for maximum impact. In a community with finite resources, it's crucial to harness them effectively while adhering to funding guidelines. Maria will demystify the concepts of "braided and blended funding," offer guidance on tracking and reporting, and share best practices.

Stephanie Whack, the DV Program Coordinator at LAHSA, developed a comprehensive table featuring commonly utilized funding streams tailored to support victims of domestic violence, human trafficking, and sexual assault. This dynamic resource will be periodically updated for accuracy, ensuring it remains a valuable asset for our community. It can be accessed here:  LA County Housing-Related Resources Chart

Braiding Funding Conversation

DVHSC Hosts ULA

The DVHSC hosted a session led by Joe Donlin, Director of United to House LA, on the topic of the new housing resources made possible through the United to House LA property transfer tax. Though our advocacy work needs to center on ensuring that the community can use these funds (currently under litigation), we know that rental assistance and development funding are critical. Materials that Joe reviewed in our meeting can be found here: DVHSC Presentation Measure ULA. If you have any additional questions about United to House LA, please reach out to Joe at Joe@unitedtohousela.com or reference the website here  https://www.unitedtohousela.com/.
